Reach the Children UK is a charity that is dedicated to providing opportunities for self-reliance in the rural environment through sustainable community projects, and also through generating income to fund projects local partners identify as fundamental and/or primary needs of rural communities. Such projects include the provision of clean and safe water,
opportunities for education and skills training, and providing primary first aid training for locations where there are no clinics or medical facilities.
Because Reach the Children UK recognizes the unique contribution made by women of Africa, it seeks to support empowering of women through education, removing impediments to the achievement of skill sets, enabling employment as trained artisans and craftswomen, as well as providing opportunities for higher education that benefits civil society throughout their lifetime. Reach the Children UK recognizes that the women of Africa are the catalysts that keep communities working together for the benefit of all. Because of this vital role African women play in their communities, Reach the Children UK emphatically
supports all initiatives that sustain the empowerment of women, establishing
rights and commitments to equal opportunities for all women.
Through donations received, Reach the Children UK provides families in rural communities with amenities for sustainable living such as: mosquito nets, mattresses, feminine hygiene products, seeds, gardening tools, handwashing basins, school desks, support of high school students for 4 years, immunizations, sewing machines and fabric for vocational training,
providing donkeys or dairy cows for a needy family, building houses
for needy family or hand-dug wells, among other things.
